NU isnt a very liberal artsy school- generally, CAS majors are less well known than the professional ones (business, engineering, health sciences etc), prob cuz of NU's huge focus on co-op and practicality. i dont think they're HORRIBLE though...
Based on the two classes I've taken in the philosophy department, I'd say it's pretty good. Not as good/reputable as Poli Sci or International Affairs, but good.
We're trying to shed our reputation for not being a liberal arts oriented school.
