Ayers College of Commerce and Industry

Anyone know about this residential college? I've heard that it is pretty anti-social, but it seems to offer some great advantages and connections that may outweigh its lack of fun.

it's a pretty darn awesome dorm in my opinion

I live in Shepard hall, but many of my friends live in CCI (as Ayers usually goes by, since nobody really knows how to pronounce "ayers", hehe.)

Shepard and CCI are two of the tamest of the social dorms. in other words, not a huge party scene, but they manage to have a lot of fun with each other. It's all what you make of it, really. Two years ago CCI was notorious for drug use, this year it really depends on what floor you live on. But the exec board for next year is awesome, so most people would like it I'd imagine

It's pretty diverse really. If I had to give it a stereotype I'd say it's a good dorm for people who are social but dont like to party. I had a friend that lived there last year and he absolutely hated it and wished he lived in one of the really social dorms like bobb or elder. If you're going to live there, make sure partying every week isn't a plan of yours in college(it is for half the student population).

social party-wise is bobb/mcculloch on north campus, allison on south campus. (they're connected).

social in terms of having good community within the dorm.... shepard, cci, willard, small houses (i.e. ccs-quirky bunch but fun) , jones(theater majors galore). NMQ, SMQ, slivka, hinman are probably some of the least cohesive dorms. Willard and jones also have a reputation of being very much independent of other dorms; for most people in those dorms almost all their friends live there.
