by the way, netid is going to be your login for all your NU stuff. you use it for Blackboard, the main online program for course management. If you're in Chem, Arch uses it, and if you're an Engineer, Depot uses it as well.

Also, just a heads up (in case you're curious), NU forces you to change your netid password every so often (i had to change my password mid november or december freshman year) or they lock yoru netid and you have to pay a fine to unlock and change the pass. Your passwords also have to be "unique". I'm not sure what that means, but i think that it can't look similar to your previous password. Mere technicalities.

my email address isn't working properly, I can send emails from the address, but it cannot receive emails. Anyone have the same problem?

Make sure you know the difference between netid and email. Either one can be used to receive emails but the address changes.

Email: initial-lastname@northwestern.edu (unless you change to something else)
Netid email: abc123@webserver.it.northwestern.edu

As far as I know you can't just email abc123@northwestern.edu which might be where you're getting into trouble.
