allison or Crc

I'm trying to decide on dorms.. my top choices i decided would be either Allison or CRC, and I know each offers a completely different experience.

For awhile I was dead set on CRC since it's residential and has communications facilities, but then I thought maybe at least for the first year I should go for allison where I'll meet a diverse range of people and get a bigger "dorm" experience, whereas CRC is supposed to be very tight knit. I've weighed the pros and cons of each (room size/suites, dining, community etc), but ultimately i want to know: as an entering freshman, is it better to have the allison type of experience or residential?

(and if i go with allison, is it possible to apply for CRC the following year?)
