LotteLenya, I'm really sorry about NU, but it sounded like you were leaning towards NYU anyway, so that's good! I'll let you know when my son decides -- he's waiting on studio assignment and financial info from NYU, but it's not going to be an easy decision for him. Like Susan said, both schools are excellent, but very different.

Thanks, Manuelo -- we were hoping for a positive result, especially since he attended the NHSI program there last summer for 7 weeks, but you never know with NU -- they're really unpredictable.

Susan, it was disturbing and amusing at the same time to get someone else's admission packet (including financials). My son was on the phone with his girlfriend when I excitedly brought him the big envelope with "Congratulations!" on the front, and he opened it and started reading the letter to her, and the expression on his face was priceless when he read, "Dear Joseph... Dear Joseph?!" (His name is Matt.) It's very funny in retrospect, but yes, our first thought was whether he actually got in. We called admissions first, but when they wouldn't give us an answer until the Director of Admissions returned, we were a little worried and my husband called the other kid's parents. His mom wouldn't open the envelope because it was addressed to her son, even though we had her son's info in our hands (I don't blame her), so we had to wait for admissions to call us back. Luckily, it was good news. What a crazy thing.

Hey LotteLenya, did you get accepted to Tisch or NYU? I got into NYU and rejected from NU as well. Question for anyone as well: Is it true that NU got 18,000 apps this year!!?? thats RIDICULOUS. I last heard their acceptance rate was at 25, but if that figure is true its closer to 16%. anyone know if this is true?

Bway06....delighted to hear YOUR happy news too! Ah, isn't nice to be on the "other side" now of the admissions process? And now you have "good problems" to solve. Let me know what ya decide!

mattborst -- this is probably a little late, but if you're looking for an MT program, I'd say definitely take NU over UCLA. Even if you're not, I'd still choose NU, but I'm a little biased. :-)
