I am considering applying to Medill next year. Will I get in and other questions

I'm really interested in Broadcast Journalism and I want a lot of my application to focus on the public speaking. My academics are weak - and it's because I'm a really bad test taker.

GPA: 3.6 UW / 3.9 W
Rank: (school doesn't give this)
SAT: 660 Math 630 Critical Reading 710 Writing 10 Essay
SAT II: 670 US History (plan to take Eng Lit & Math IIC and possibly W. History)

Acc/AP classes
Freshman - junior year
Acc Biology (but got a bad grade B- (my worst grade on my report card)
Acc Alg II
AP US History
AP Environmental (but not taking the AP test in May)
AP English Language
AP World History

Senior year I will take
AP English Literature
AP Calculus
AP French
AP Music Theory
AP Macro/Micro

Elective Courses related to broadcast journalism:
Media Studies
Journalism I
Adv Journalism
Broadcast Journalism
Public Speaking

Extra Curricular - These are the ones related to broadcast journalism:

1. Anchor, Produce, and Edit my own TV show I started this year after interning at my local TV station for 3 months (11th & 12th grade)
2. President of my Speech & Debate team (been on team 4 years - president senior year)
3. Speaker for my violin teacher's orchestra (like public relations position) (4 years)
4. Writer for school newspaper for 3 years (news staff writer)

Leadership Positions/Community Service/Other Extra-Curriculars

4. Leader of Young Achievers (community service group all sophomores were forced to participate) (2 years)
5. Leader of my community service leader position that deals with piano because I have been playing the piano for about 13 years (4 years)

Summer and Other experiences related to Broadcast Journalism
Summer 07
University of Miami - 3 weeks - Broadcast Journalism & Radio courses (3 college credits)
Advanced Public Speaking - 2 weeks - UCBerkeley

Winter 08
Presidential Classroom - 1 week in Mass Media & Communications (applying to get 1 credit from University of VA but still pending)

Summer 08
Plan to attend 6 week Syracuse University Summer high school program in Communications (will be 6 credits)
-Also handed in an application for an Asian American Journalism program but that is REALLY hard to get into so I doubt I will get in there.

Questions:
Will they care that I am taking most of my AP's senior year? Would NU rather choose someone who had taken more AP's junior year?

My Extra-curriculars are what I am really hoping will help me get in - will having my own tv show be a huge factor or not really

What should I put in under extra-curriculars and what should I leave out?

I'm going to try to focus all of my application on broadcast journalism. Do I have enough?

I'm getting A's and A-'s in all my classes except my AP's and ACC's I'm averaging about a B+. Also, I slack off a lot (right now I should be studying for AP tests and I tend to do really bad on tests because I get nervous and in general I'm really nervous about getting into college....

I'm in New Jersey. I'm a female Asian-American (Taiwanese specifically and a lot of them are coming over and they are all really smart (especially in math) and I know being an Asian American student is especially hard. Also, playing piano and doing that community service group for piano is obviously something thousands of other smart, female Asian-American students do so please give me an HONEST answer.

SOMETHING REALLY IMPORTANT:
Everyone keeps saying "Oh you have a chance" but there are thousands of other students who want to go to NU as badly as I do so please give me an honest answer and you don't have to care about hurting my feelings because you'll never meet me in person!

ALSO I THINK I WANT TO APPLY "ED". I KNOW THE STATISTICS SHOW I WILL SLIGHTLY HAVE A BETTER CHANCE. I VISITED AND I LOVE IT THERE BUT I'M WORRIED ABOUT HOW COMPETITIVE IT IS. THANKS A LOT.

I got in with a 3.53, but I did get all A's my junior year, and my SAT score was well above NU's median. Anything can happen, just write a really good essay.

You have a chance -- no one here can predict anything! Good luck to you.

I would suggest focusing your essay on your journalistic extracurriculars. They love seeing people that are passionate about journalism from what I heard them say.
