NU vs ND vs UVA

I want to become a business major with perhaps an interest in finance. I know that all three of these schools (Notre Dame, Northwestern and University of Virginia) have very good business programs. I just want a general opinion of what to do. Right now I am leaning towards NU because of their amazing campus and location, but noting the prestige of the ND business program, I am having last second thoughts.

I cant rule out UVA either because it also has a very good undergrad program. Its a tough choice >.<

couldnt find the edit button so....

I was just wondering, is the Econ program at NU comparable to business schools. Like is it equivalent to a business school thought not officially one?

Yes, it definitely is, and Chicago provides a lot of internship opportunities.

Plus, you'll maybe get to interact with Kellogg proffesors which can help if you want to stay at NU for grad school.

From what I hear, NU gets recruited hard from the top firms, and the alumni network is excellent. As far as prestige, it depends on how you view it, some think it pales compared to an Ivy, some view it as an equal.

Having spent some time on "The Street", I would say that an Econ degree from NU is as strong, if not stronger than a degree from most of the top 10 biz schools (aside from Wharton and maybe a couple of others) - just as getting an Econ degree from Princeton or Columbia, which also don't have undergradduate biz programs, isn't considered a disadvantage.

Getting into the MMSS program and/or the certificate program, tho, would give you a decisive edge.

What are the financial considerations. Finances aside, I would choose Northwestern. VA and ND are a wash academically.
