off the waitlist - Page 5

I am an NU alum and called the admissions office today regarding my daughter who was placed on the waiting list. I was told that nothing is done and final until the end of June. Offers to admit from the waiting list will be made via email. Everyone on the waiting list will get a letter on or by the end of June notifying them of their status.

This is fairly interesting. I received an email just a few minutes ago from the NU admissions office stating that my official decision would be available after 19:00 CST tonight. The strange thing is, I randomly logged onto the application decision page about 3 days ago and it stated that I was accepted. I called the admissions office, and apparently it's correct - they gave me an activation pin and I now have an online account registered with NU (email and everything). I have no clue what's going on, I am supposed to be on the waitlist - do they give early decisions like this?

Sounds to me as if you are in! Your experience is a bit at odds with what the admissions office told me, but if they confirmed your status as admitted, then I would think it's valid. This would not be the first time an admissions office says one thing and does another!

The takeaway message I got from the phone call yesterday was that the waitlist process is fluid and won't be completed until the end of June.

woo! I just got of the waitlist! but I also recently got into notre dame and I am leaning towards there. does anybody know when we have to decide??

What I referred to is "So there is no cofusion (I just called the admission office). She said they sent out a complete set of acceptances on friday and they will only go to the waitlist again if a lot of people from friday decline. Congrats to everyone that got in!!"@the77
