Chances?

I've got an unweighted gpa of 3.8, having taken almost all of the honors and AP classes available to me, my class rank is about 30 out of 400, and I scored a 2000 on the SAT's. My significant extra-curriculars are: varsity tennis, editor for the school newspaper, NHS member, a member of a peer mediation program. I've served about 100 hours of community service (mostly a homeless meals program), and worked at my local library during the summer for three years, as well as part time during the school year for one year.

What do you think my chances are? Thanks a bunch!

Also, is the financial aid are terrible as everyone says it is?

Your GPA is significantly higher than mine was, but my test scores were higher. I'd consider retaking the SAT's (or ACT) and getting about a 2100 (30) to feel safe. Otherwise, everything looks like you'd have a good shot.

From what I hear from others, NYU's aid does suck. However, I got an EXTREMELY generous package (31,000 a year in scholarships), but I got a lot more than most people.

i thought NYU's aid was decent.

your stats across the board are much higher than mine and i got in.

however, i think this was because i applied to the film school and had a very strong portfolio. depends on your major as well

sorry, new so not sure whether to post a new thread or add onto anothers.
I noticed my stats are similar to those above except my standardized test scores (1800 and 26) are significantly lower, do I still have a chance?

Also I studied at an INternational school in Belgium for 9th and 10th if that would add to my possibilities at all
