| im a sternie '12 but i dont know what to choose in terms of dorms haha. im stuck between hayden and uhall any help or reasoning behind hayden? (a lot of past student posts put uhall higher than hayden...)
heard that uhall is best because palladium is right next door which houses a lot of the sternies and the good facilities

| people say uhall is less social because it's apartment style so people hang out in their own rooms/common rooms, rather than the hallways.
and you get to pick traditional or apartment style and then rank your order of preferences. everyone gets to do that but ED kids get priority. |

| oh uhall vs hayden
uhall - union square location, above dunkin donuts, near palladium gym and dining hall, apartment style, quite new looking, a bit clinical/uniform looking
hayden - washington square park location, has dining hall, dorm style, decent size rooms some with really nice views but some quite old and tatty e.g. a/c not working, paint peeling, etc. very social, in like a party-ish way. probably the most social building. there are generally like 50 people hanging round outside at any given time. |

| I'm stuck between U-Hall and Hayden as well. The supposed social rep of Hayden might be cool for the first month or so but the privacy of Uhall sounds better to me in the long run. That plus I really want to know exactly what anti-social means when applied to uhall. I have a hard time believing people don't interact in the dorms.. |

| Don't do UHall. It's pretty far away from campus. Even though it's not a bad walk, you will feel a bit isolated, it's inevitable. I live in Rubin. I like it, but I definitely spend most of my time in Hayden with my friends and wish I lived there. I actually spend most of my nights sleeping in Hayden.. It is very possible to not interact with others in one's dorm. I don't ever hang out with anyone I met through Rubin really. Hayden is social but can also be private. My best advice for anyone--regardless of whether you are extremely social or not, is to live in Hayden. There, you will be close to campus and have the option to be extremely social or keep to yourself. The privacy thing is completely up to the individual--close your door, and no one will bug you.
After that, I would say Rubin then Goddard then Brittany. |

| Oh also, HueyFreeman, Uhall is actually pretty sterile and anti-social. It is quite possible and very true. I know a few people who have either transferred out of Uhall or are trying to. |

| which traditional dorm has the nicest overall vibe/look - ie. lobby, bathroom, room size, closet, etc.?
on a side note, are all traditional dorms carpeted? |
