Finally!!!! (Actually about housing)

We finally get our own forum!!!! I actually sent a message to the admin asking about it.... So what housing building is everyone looking at? I'm really interested in Third North. What does everyone else think?

For me, it's between Hayden and U-Hall. I like Hayden because I really want to be in a social environment for at least my first year, since I won't know anyone and would love to meet new people. On the other hand, U-Hall has much more spacious, apartment-style dorms, which sounds really nice. So I'm really not sure yet.

Congrats on getting in, by the way!

I'm looking at Rubin. I've had a lot of friends live there who really liked it.

Everyone keeps saying that U-Hall is one of the less social dorms... I personally dont see why it cant be MORE social than living in a traditional style dorm. Living with 3 other people, as well as having a living room to invite people over seems way more social than living with one or two people. Not to mention the fact that its more comfortable.

Or am I missing something...?

I'd have to do more research, but from what I know I'd love Third North or Hayden.

HAYDEN<----most social. and i love to party.
Goddard

All 3 basically because their on WSP and are close to campus/classes/dining
and all 3 have AC/heating. i need it or i will die.
and all 3 are traditional style and you make more friends that way.

Do we actually get to pick the dorm or do we just get to pick traditional or apartment-style? Thanks!

Because we are ED, we get to choose our actual dorm. RD people only get to choose what style of dorm. That's at least what I've heard. When do we get to choose? I think my dad sent the deposit/signed thingy yesterday, but I'm going to be leaving (for nyc) this friday!

I totally agree with tech and I second U-Hall It is kind of meaningless to talk about how one dorm is more social over another, as it changes every year!. And RDers don't get to choose their dorms anyways so it really depends on what kind of people you get in ur dorm. A living room and kitchen is just... too good to miss . Besides, Union Square location shouldn't be bad at all.. it's only a 10-minute walk from washington square

i'm thinking hayden as my first choice and then goddard. not picking third north or uhall only because i want to cut back on the expenses a bit and i'll be alright without an apt style anyway.
but yeah, DEFINITELY need the a/c & heating. and i need to be close to classes since i tend to oversleep haha. i also have a horrible sense of direction and would probably be lost for the first few weeks.

besides, whether it's hayden or not, a traditional style is always easier to socialize because you hang out with your whole floor. with third north and uhall, you'd be shut out from that. uhall also has an antisocial reputation anyway.
