Nyu Official Class Of 2012 Results

Hey guys,

I got this over at the Columbia thread. Please post in this thread when you recieve your decision so we can all rant about why X got in and Y didn't, congrats, feel betters, blah blah =]

Let's post only when we get decisions.

Note: Delete the spacing between the brackets. Here's mine:
(Well I got a likely letter for RD...but I'm probably 99% in at NYU. ED applicants please post too, thanks!)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The results will be announced:
1. via staggered invitations to events/honors in early March
2. via snail mail by April 1st

Use the format below, delete spaces between the brackets when you post to get the right formatting.

Decision: ACCEPTED
Got an invitation for admitted students today, saying that my official acceptance package will come later. So I guess I'm unofficially IN YAY~~

Stats:
  • SAT: 2200 W780 M700 R720
  • SAT IIs: Math II 730 Chemistry 680 Chinese 800
  • GPA: 91
  • Rank: top 20%
  • Other stats: NMF listed NYU as first choice
Subjective:
  • Essays: great
  • Teacher Recs: 1st-teacher has known me for 2 years 2nd-knew me for one year. Both wrote very good recs I assume, but I didn't read them.
  • Counselor Rec: Handles a lot of kids. Doesn't know me well. But she's nice and I trust that she did her best using whatever info I gave her.
  • Hook (if any): first generation to college
Location/Person:
  • State or Country: NYC
  • School Type: One of the specialized HS
  • Ethnicity: Chinese
  • Gender: Male
Other Factors: NYU likes my school and accepts A LOT of kids (50+) from my school each year. That helped I guess. I visited NYU once in the fall. As for ECs, they were nothing spectacular. I did the usual clubs, volunteer work, interships, tutoring, concert band.
General Comments: NYU was a semi-reach for me. I'm not surprised that I got in, but I won't be surprised at all if I got rejected. Anyhow, I'm definitely attending unless I get a crap financial aid package.

Since NYU has so many different schools, I believe it'd be beneficial to add the school of admission.. so:

I posted a revised version on the main NYU forum, as it is more accessible and read by more people. Please refer to "====NYU Official Decisions Thread for Class of 2012==== " in the main forum now . It'd be great if you guys who already posted ur stats can move your stuffs to that thread as well.
