Checking into dorms

I know that you can move in starting from the 24th of August, but what time do the dorms open and what time does all the checking-in end? Would it still be open at 10 pm?

Last year, we registered online for time slots to come into the dorms. Assuming they're doing the same thing this year, obviously the earlier you register, the lesser of a hassle you'll have checking in. Even with my time being 10 or 11:00, Hayden was CROWDED and the line went from the front of the building and covered the whole Washington Place side. You still should call just in case so that you don't make arrangements and things go horribly wrong, but last year people were still checking in at 10 PM.

It calmed much later in the day (like after 8pm) at Hayden, Rubin, and Brittany on move-in day this year (somehow I ended up at all three...) The elevators were more readily available at that time and I would say that it would be easier to move in then, after the afternoon traffic dies down.

They have check-in time slots to make things easier, but technically you don't really HAVE to register, and you can check in the next day if you want to. I signed up for the 9am slot at 3rd North and there was hardly a line. I think it only started getting really crowded at around 1pm or so..... probably because 3N's big, we have a courtyard to accommodate the crowds and we have more elevators than the other dorms (and rightly so, since it's such a huge dorm).

I moved in at 7 am last year and I was the first one to check it. It was amazing being all moved in and watching people struggle on the road. Just go early.
