They fill the spaces on an on-going basis as they review the tapes of qualified applicants. I believe kids have been hearing about decisions in the last few weeks. Before April, the dep't was probably more focused on who would be accepted to their undergraduate/graduate programs.

The program is excellent and D is thrilled to be starting NYU in the fall (vocal performance-MT). Good luck everyone!

So are they letting the applicants know on a rolling basis?

I have the same question. Does the Steinhardt summer program admit applicants based on a rolling basis? It didn't look that way from their website.

Yep, rolling basis, I was told once they received audition materials they would make a decision as to whether or not we were qualified and then they start mailing letters after a certain date.

My D was just admitted as well! I'd also love to hear from any experts out there.

i believe there are maybe around 175 to 200 applications. Not sure how many acceptances they give to yield the number they want in the program. I believe there were like 40 in the program when D attended in 2007.

Since the deadline for the application was April 1, I am assuming that those individuals who submitted early December/January would be among the first to have been notified, if they felt you were qualified.
It sounds like they review for whether or not you were qualified, after that then notify based on the date you sent it in? So for those individuals who sent it in during Mid-March, they may be put on a wait list? Does this sound accurate?

I'm not sure about notification dates vs. application submission. D sent in audition dvd quite late (March 27th) and was just notified Friday, April 17th, of her acceptance via email.

For those who have D or S who have done this program at Steinhardt, do you know how many of the summer applicants are junior or seniors in high school? Are there college aged students as well?
