UK Tisch student with several questions

Hey everyone,

I've just found out I've been accepted into Tisch for a BFA in Drama. My first choice studio was Meisner Extension and second choice was The Lee Strasberg Studio, and my auditioner (who was from the ETW) mentioned that I should apply for a semester in the ETW in my third year.

Anyhoo, the point of this post is: Is there any way to find out what studio I've been placed into? As a UK student applying to several UK drama schools as well, this is a huge decision for me, and the studio will play a big part in making that decision!

Also, how well respected is the Tisch program? I know it's one of the top programs in the US, but I've also heard that the industry in the US regards a BA from a British drama school very highly too.
Ultimately, my professional aim is a successful career in film acting, hopefully on both sides of the Atlantic.

Thanks in advance for any help/info you can give!

Jenny

you'll get something in the mail... im in the states and just got my studio assignment yesterday.. im in strasberg, but wanted musical theatre or meisner, so im really in shock right now. anyway, i think all the assignments went out only a couple of days ago, so it should come.. if not, call. the tisch program is very respected. the alumni list is huge.. and the program is huge as well. im definitely going there. i will be honest though, that there are pros and cons from what i hear. it is NOT a conservatory, though, perhaps the three days you do studio work it may feel like one. you have to get a solid liberal arts background at nyu. also, ive heard "large" rumors... i mean it's not going to be julliard or yale where there are like 8 people in your class. but, still, it is nyu... and very well respected... did you fly yourself over here for the audition?? where else are you looking in the UK?

i hope i helped!

Yes you did help, thanks very much

And I found out I'm in Meisner, so I'm very pleased!

Yeah I did fly over in Feb to audition. And I'm applying to loads of other schools over here, for BA (Hons) in Acting - not Unis though, drama schools!
