| Camge, so good to hear about the show. I'm guessing that it's Austin and Kate who've been cast. My D, who knows a couple of people involved in the show (not sure who they are but likely Tischies) told me about a NYMTF show that was heavily Tisch had cast those two. It would be a real coincidence if it was another show! And yes, casting a 'name' or two does indeed do amazing wonders for your box office. Best of luck to all of them. We know so many who have been involved with NYMTF and it is such a wonderful honor to be chosen, and very often leads to other things, which is the name of the game! |

| Camge, you were in VT? I wish I knew as I live in VT and would have enjoyed meeting you.
Yes, one of my D's apartment-mates last year and good friend and classmate in CAP21 (her year) was in your son's production of Black Crook and yes her name begins with an S and she is very talented. A close male friend of my D's (not in CAP but was in Playwrights and now is a senior in ETW) was also in your son's show and his first name is the same as your son's.
I don't know if my D actually knows your son, but likely is aware of his work, or at the very least, his production of Black Crook.
I think it is incredibly exciting that your son has his show in the NYMTF!~ and I wish him so much luck with this and the exposure and all of that. My D had been asked to musically direct one of the NYMTF shows but could not fit it in (is MDing another professional work in the city) and can't accept all MD jobs that come her way as she wants to be able to perform on stage.
I look forward to following your son's career and he certainly is going places. My D is training to perform in MT, but she also loves writing her own musicals, songs, arranging and musically directing. So, I am sure she would be inspired that your son's own musical has gone this far so soon after graduating Tisch. All the best to him. If you are ever up in VT again, let me know.
Your son likely doesn't know my D (she is also quite a bit younger and not from his studio) but I am sure they know others in common (I just mentioned two close friends at the least). |

| AlwaysAMom, I had read earlier this summer that Austin and Kate from You're the One That I Want were in Camge's son's show, I believe. |

| Camge, I also noticed that your son's composer/lyricist and also his musical director, both worked with the composer my D is working with on some projects and my guess is she likely knows of those two. |

| camge,
I received an email from my D early this morning that contained a link to a review of Tully. She, and many of her friends, have been so anxious to see how the show that their friends are involved with would do at the festival! Well, looks like rave reviews are coming! She had a few friends who have already seen it and said that it was absolutely stunning! Big congratulations to your son, he must be thrilled. http://nymfbulletkaren.blogspot.com/...ar-qualms.html |

| A wonderful not-yet-graduated Tischer Just had to make a post to say how impressed my D and I were with CAP21 student (on leave) Alyssa Malgeri's performance in the NETworks Presentations' production of Hairspray we saw this afternoon. Magleri plays Penny Pingleton and not only does she have an amazing voice, but she also was just adorable in the role. She practically stole the show. It was hard to believe that such a big voice came out of such a tiny girl. |

| NMR...I haven't heard of a "Tischer" but have heard of references of "Tischies," LOL.
Didn't know about Alyssa Malgeri, but neat to hear about the performance.
There are other current Tisch students on leave. I hardly know them all. I know of one friend of my D's who has now graduated and was in her a capella group and she took a leave to be Sophie on the Mamma Mia tour not too long ago.
Two good friends in D's class at CAP21 are taking a leave right now as they were very recently cast.....one as the male lead, Laurie in the National Tour of Little Women, and one (who is also in her a capella group) to be in the LA production of History Boys. Another classmate at CAP is on leave this year on the European Tour of West Side Story. Another from her CAP class left after the first year to be in Spring Awakening. |

| My d says her class dwindled from 80 to about 60 or less due to kids taking jobs or transferring to a different studio, which is great... more one on one attention!
PS SOOZIEVT - I GOT 4 TIX FOR LITTLE SHOP.... CAN'T WAIT!!! (Nov 16) |

| Soozievt, sorry 'bout using the wrong nickname for the kids who attend Tisch. Maybe it's because we have family friends with the last name "Tischer" that it came to mind. The important thing is that this young lady was truly wonderful. She basically stole the show every time she was onstage. For fun, I googled her name and it seems that newspaper reviewers in various cities agree! |

| NMR.....just jokin' you on the "Tischer" reference!
I enjoyed reading about the actress and the show. I didn't know that a CAP student was in that show but that also is not my D's year/group.
RossJi...glad you were able to snag reservations for Little Shop. Sorry to miss you but I am not going to that particular performance.
In the third and fourth years at CAP21, the size of the class does go down because as you know, at Tisch, after two years of primary studio, you may apply to study in another studio and experience another approach. It is a benefit at the school if you want that variety in your training. Also, Playwrights has a MT workshop semester or year (forget which). As tempting as it was for my D to want to experience the great offerings at other studios (such as ETW), she just would never give up CAP21 to do it as she loves it too much. Some friends did want to study those studio's offerings and have chosen to as primary studio is done. Likewise, some friends from other studios applied to get into CAP21 for their second two years and some made it in. As you likely know, there are talented MT kids in other studios. So, now that some have chosen secondary studios, the class is smaller. I believe it is quite a bit smaller than you indicated. Also, as you know, several kids are currently cast and on leave. |

| My d is a freshman at CAP and there are already some kids in her class who will be "on leave" next semester. One girl is accepting a role on broadway and a couple of others will be on broadway tour. Not sure which shows though. Many other kids made call backs for Spring Awakening, but I don't know whether or not they were cast or if call backs have been held yet. My d has decided against auditioning outside of NYU at this time. |

| NOLAMOM...my D is like yours. She does not want to audition for anything that would take her out of school. She'll wait until she graduates. She loves the training and doesn't want to give this experience up at this time. Your D can perform eventually at school and in summers. That is what my D has done since getting to Tisch (she is a junior). I hope your daughter is enjoying CAP21. |

| SoozieVT......I am looking forward to seeing your d perform in the Tisch Muscial (I can't remember the name of it)! I believe that your d is the lead. How exciting! and YES my d is enjoying CAP. She loves it. It is all she hoped it would be and more. |
