Transfer Acceptance

I am planning to audition for Tisch for the MT program. I am currently a freshman at a state school in NC working really hard to get good grades. In high school I had average grades, and an average SAT. I was wondering if they look more directly @ your college grades, or your high school grades? Will doing early application increase my chances of getting in?

The same thing with me, I'm a freshman at college and I plan to finish my AA and then transfer with the best grades I can.

What are my chances of getting into NYU?

They take some. I know some who have transferred in. Also, if you read the MT Forum, you will see that our very own CCer, VTBroadwayBaby was just accepted as a transfer to Tisch.

The odds are difficult for transfers but they do accept them.

Hey VTBroadwayBaby....I had a chance to tell my younger D that you got into Tisch and she says, "good for you!" She was wondering which studio you are admitted to. Will you join second years I assume?

Soozie, I think VTBroadwayBaby posted on a different thread that she was accepted to Playwrights Horizon.

And congrats to VTBroadwayBaby on the transfer acceptance!!! Yay for such great news!!!

Oh I missed that ! I saw on the acceptance thread that she got into Tisch. I missed where she posted the studio. Very cool! Playwrights is an amazing studio. My D has many friends in it. Also, Playwrights has a MT practicum that is optional. Not sure if you know about that. Will you be put in with second years?

I auditioned for transfer into Tisch and was accepted to CAP21. At my audition they told us outright that it was difficult because there were more limited spots for transfers, but it was not unheard of.

Congratulations to you pantheman!

There were also some internal transfers by audition from other Tisch Drama studios into CAP21 for next year. Not a lot, but some.
