Could anyone that was accepted to Kanbar or knows of the caliber of work that gets accepted please critique my portfolio and tell me whether they think I will be accepted? It's about 9 and a half minutes long, so if you don't have time to watch all of it, please at least skim and watch sections.
I just watched it all. before I give a response, what division in kanbar are you applying to, undergrad or grad, and what career do you intend on pursuing at nyu? cause its different critque depending on what your aim is.
It's for undergrad film/TV. I'm not quite sure what I want to do when I get out. One possibility is producing music videos and such at a production house.
Thanks.
ok, well i thought youre special effects were really great.
the videos seemed kind of pointless though. no real story being told and you cant rely on special effects to tell a story, unless im completely missing something here. however, its still impressive, i think you have a good chance since they are well edited and everything, i just didnt understand what was going on...
Most of the stuff I've done is package production (intros, closings...), which is where all of the vfx come in. I already submitted this to NYU, but do you think for another scholarship I'm applying for that I should replace some of the packages with a music video (below) so it isn't so vfx intense?
