Congratulations! Studio assignments usually come within a week of the acceptance package.

My S just got his assignment today--Stella Adler! He's thrilled--it's perfect for him, in so many ways. I think they really know what they're doing. Anybody else in Stella Adler?

Raphael,

My daughter is in Adler and loves it! It has been a great experience for her. Congratulations to your son!

If you're eager to know I believe you can call the dept. of drama and ask. I did last year.

I received both my acceptance/financial aid package (in a large packet) and my CAP21 studio assignment (came separate, in a small, normal envelope) today.

Mackie -- you are probably just experiencing "buyer's remorse." It's not unusual to feel nervous and uncertain when we get what we want -- it's a strange paradox. Have you ever heard of the expression "Be careful what you wish for, for it is sure to be yours."

My experience is that after the initial excitement wears off, you will feel good about your decision and your nervousness will go away. But, remember, it's not at all unusual to feel a bit anxious before going away to school -- Stockbridge, GA to NYC is a big move, after all. Good luck with it, you'll be fine.

Mine is STILL not here! I'm going CRAZY!

They refused to tell me by phone, too. Gah.

My first choice was CAP, followed by Adler. I think I'm gonna keel over from anticipation.

Thanks for the encouragement manuelo, ETW is a very intimidating studio. The thing you said about buyer's remorse is soooo true. I just don't want to feel uncomfortable in my studio for two whole years. I regret requesting it. Anyone have any personal experience with ETW?

Mackie, I'm not in ETW, I'm in Meisner but we do smiliar stuff and I know a lot of people there. You most likely WILL NOT regret it because it will be awesome. But yeah it may feel uncomfortable/nervous at first. It's a daring place to put yourself. But then wonderful. And so is every studio really. It's very physical work, sensual...experimental, believe it or not! ETW isn't for everyone, but I don't know of anyone who was put there and doesn't love it. Kevin Khulke is an amazing man and I'm so jealous of anyone who gets taught by him!
Also if you really don't like it after the first few weeks, you can transfer studios. It's not simple but it's possible.
If you have any specific questions, I can try and help.

I asked my s, a Jr, (who initially wanted CAP but loves his studio, Playwrights) what other studio he might have chosen--knowing what he knows now. He indicated ETW. So, go for it!
