| Mackie....surely those going to NYU (or to any college for that matter) are excited. My guess is that some posters who come to CC tend to stop posting after their admissions process ends. Some stay on but many discontinue participating after acceptance. Also, some of the posters on this particular CC forum (the MT Forum) are parents, not students. Certain forums on CC attract parents and some forums are primarily students. The MT Forum is mixed.
If you go to the final decisions thread, you can locate other incoming Tischies and contact them. Some folks on that list are parents, however.
Usually, facebook has groups for incoming students to particular schools.
