Book costs

How much do books cost normally for a freshman drama student? (I'm in Strasberg.)

I think my d's biggest book expense was Writing the Essay. And they change the book every year (figures!). But other than that, books were not a whole lot (but she's in CAP; could be different)

WTE is about 100. Your studio may require other books (Playwrights requires you read three acting books during the year, but I just checked them out of the library instead of buying them)...generally, though, you won't have to spend much on them. ITS book is a little over 100 I think but I got mine used online for 60. You may also have to purchase a supplemental selection of readings/essays that your teacher puts together for 15-20 for ITS. ITP books run, I think, around 20 a piece. You can surely get those used online though.

What I did second semester (I took ITS first and ITP second) is I switched books with a friend who took ITP first semester so that neither of us had to buy new books second semester. It worked great. I highly recommend it.

P.S. ITS = Intro to Theatre Studies and ITP = Intro to Theatre Production
