My D. is planning on auditioning at NYU in February. I already called for a hotel and the prices are really high. Any suggestions for a reasonably priced hotel. How about one near the audition site? Thanks

In New York, there isnt too much(and I book meetings a lot there). Demand and prices are just sky high right now. Try hotels.com. I got a 199 rate at a smaller boutique hotel not too long ago. That is pretty much the going rate unless you stay in Jersey.
chelle, were you just calling around to hotels in general for dates in February, or does your D somehow have an audition date? I thought that everyone (other than early decision candidates) had to wait until Nov. 1 to schedule auditions. Now I am wondering if I am wrong.
No. She plans on scheduling her date on November 1st. I just thought I would book a hotel room early, because we ran into so much trouble in Michigan. At most hotels you can cancel if the date doesn't work out.
NYU has a private hotel they are connected to. There is a location in Times Square and then one close to the campus. Look on their site - can't rememer the name right now.
It is cheaper than other mainstream hotels.
