thesire72102,

There is a Tisch site on LiveJournal that is really helpful. I have found the students are quite responsive to questions posted there, especially about the studios.

Good Luck!

I was wondering something about studio assignments... I have just been accepted to Tisch and at my audition, said I wanted CAP21 first and foremost but pressed for a second, the Strasberg studio. Since I'm in, it's safe to assume that it will be one or the other, right? Is there anyone here who knows of people getting into studios they didn't ask for at all?

deegee, not necessarily. There's never any guarantee that you'll get into the studio you want, unless you say Cap or nothing, and then you're admitted, then you'll get Cap. I know kids who said Cap or Atlantic and got put in PH, so yes it does happen. The only way you're guaranteed a studio is like I said if you say Cap or nothing.

Deegee,

I have found that Tisch is really careful about where they place their students. As you might have noticed at your audition, they took time to talk to you about your studio choice and why you wanted a particular studio. The placement is about putting you where your interest, ability and background best match. They have done this for years, and from what I have observed from my daughter and her friends, they know what they are doing!

While in the beginning you may question their decision, you will soon discover that you will not only learn but "thrive" at your studio placement. Congratulations!!! You are, certainly, very lucky and are in for one of the most exciting experiences of your life!

Thanks matth and klri for the advice! This forum is so ridiculously useful

I'm sure Tisch will make the best decision. To be honest, I think all the studios look equally amazing... And yes, at the audition they told us they had a knack for picking the right studios for the right people. So I guess I will just wait as patiently as I can!

Kris--

Strasberg has been amazing first semester. I'm not sure if you noticed that was my post from last year, but if you have any questions at all about the studio (I know I had a ton!), I'd be happy to answer them. Feel free to PM me, I rarely use IM!

Also, congratulations! You're going to have a fantastic time. I know a few second-choice-after-CAP people that now say they would rather be at Strasberg (we have singing and dance classes, too), maybe you'll be one of them?
