So for those of you who have made the decicion to go to OCU, what Stars 101 day are you attending (if any)? I'm not sure I can go to any, but if I can, it will be July 10th.

Stars 101

My daughter is an OCU freshman. We went to Stars 101 in July last year and had a great time. We stayed in the dorm, and they seemed to have put all the music majors on the same floor, so she met a lot of people. The dorm has a lobby on each floor, so the kids (and some of us parents) stayed up late and watched TV or played cards. It was nice because she actually knew people already when classes started in August.

My d, also an OCU MT freshman, did not get the opportunity to attend Stars 101 because of the distance (we are from NC). I think it is great if you get the opportunity to go, but if you can't, they have a whole week of orientation activities when school begins, so don't feel as if you will be left out! Also, once you get your OCU e-mail address, you can join Facebook...my d met a lot of her classmates that way (and of course all the great CC people...that's where she found her roomie!)

If you can't go to Stars 101, don't worry about it. You will meet lots of people other ways, like Lexasmom said. And all the information is repeated during orientation in August. What I was trying to say is that, if you do go, it was fun staying in the dorm instead of a hotel. And much less expensive, too! But take warm pj's. It was REALLY cold in our room!
