| ocu audition Just got back from d's first audition at OCU. Anybody else there this weekend? If so, what did you think? We were in and out in a hour...I couldn't believe how fast the audition went. |

| I am sure everyone would love to hear your experiences at OCU. But maybe this discussion should be moved to one of the threads under OCU in the big list of schools at the top of this forum. Eeegads, I am beginning to sound like a moderator. Illusions of grandeur, I guess .... |

| audition was great OCU was also my d's first audition. It was a great way to start the process. They were quick and efficient. The faculty made her feel so comfortable. She met up with a lot of her "summer program" friends and the reunion was joyful. There were several question and answer sessions in the am and pm. Also a tour. You definately should go on the tour. We saw a dorm room in the residents hall and one in the "New dorm" also called Centenial. The New dorm seems like a condo. I wouldn't mind staying there. All in all we were impressed with the program and campus. |

| Did any of you see Hotel Casablanca while you were there?
My D lives in the "New Dorm" and it is fabulous. |

| yes-we watched the dress rehearsal of the second cast thursday night and were impressed. There were a number of fine voices and the technical aspects of the production were exceptional. Was your daughter in the cast? We wish we could have stayed for the opening Fri but we had to catch a plane. |

| If anybody is not busy FRIDAY night at 8pm, go see the student production of Kindertransport. My darlin D is Faith. And if you see 2 clueless guys who look a lot alike, they are probably my husband and son. Say hello!
THanks!

| We saw The Hotel Casablanca and it was great. I have nothing to compare it to, since I have never seen an opera before. The singing was great and it was very comedic. |

| My D was not in Hotel Casablanca, but a young (sophomore) man from our high school was. Just talked to my D and she said he was incredible. I don't know the name of his character but I think he played Italian and was in the Friday/Sunday cast.
Kim, I am looking forward to meeting you, too. My mother is coming with me, and J's dad and his wife are coming also. Little brother has to go to school Monday, so he is staying here with Pepaw.
WMonMTDad--The recital is Sunday at 4 p.m. in Petree. We will not be there until Sunday early afternoon, then will come back Monday morning. I have a lot to do Saturday to get ready for Thanksgiving, and D has some auditions Friday and Saturday, so she will be busy. |

| Mikksmom and WMonMTDad, I'm sorry I won't be there in time for Stripped or Kinder... I really would like to see all the OCU productions, but I can't afford to go every weekend! I might as well move to OKC as there are so many shows to see. |

| many shows=many chances for a part=happy students=a good thing. We're leaving Monday AM first thing. D is coming along since school is out for the week of thanksgiving. Not knowing exactly when we'll get in on Saturday we're thinking we'll see the stripped show on Sunday evening, so perhaps we'll get to see the recital. I'm sure S will know about it. perhaps we'll see you there |
