X-Ray tech is my goal

Hi,

I am 21 years old and i made the bad mistake of dropping out of college right after my first semester pretty much. I thought i owuld be better off just getting a full time job at a warehouse where i have been ever since and i regret it so much that it makes my stomache hurt sometimes. My goal and my dream now is to become an X-Ray tech. My biggest problem right now is money and time. I work a full time job and i work night shift making it very very hard for me to go to classes during the day. I am trying to get into a school (Riverside) but i missed the last deadline to turn in the application. They told me i would be better off if i had Anatomy, Phycology, Physics, and maybe even physiology takin before i applied. Well, i am now on the hunt for these courses online that will be accredited and transfer to Riverside School of Health in Hampton Virginia where i will spend 2 years earning my certification for radiology technology.

Can anyone help me find these courses online? Somewhere thats reptuable and accredited?

Some community colleges have distance education in these areas. Maybe you should check for that in the community colleges in your area?

Edit: By distance education I mean, that you have your textbook, can watch videos online or what not, and attend class a few times a month. For me, I had psychology where I had my textbook, dvd's, and went to class once a month. Plus, I would think that a community college credit would be easier to transfer than an online program credit?

geez! its been a year!! lol

I am currently in a community colleger taking BIO 141 and doing pretty decent so far. I took Psychology online and same with Medical Terminology (which I got an A in!!). I just need to finish up 141 and then take 142 and public speaking and I can transfer to another community college to finish my degree and hopefully start working in a couple more years..

I think trying to do this kind of training remotely is kind of hard. To really learn, you need some hands-on time with the equipment. As you can imagine, there are lots of pieces of equipment and machinery which you have to learn to work with. Also, interacting with patients is a key part of the job. So, doing an in-person program is much better.

Best of luck to you!
