Online degrees are disturbing when we have to ask whether or not they are even real.

I know that this one is... Webster University
The school you posted about, OP, is affiliated with another school (American Public University) which has regional accreditation. But I just plainly cannot figure out if the military version of the school is accredited in any way at all. Sorry.

Yes, American Military University is legit. It, and its sister school, is under the umbrella entity of American Public School System (American Military University is generally for military folks and American Public University is usually for civilians, though you can enroll under either one). APUS is regionally accredited ( APUS - Accreditation & Licensure) and is thought very highly of, especially in the military. I, and many other military wives, attend this school as it allows us to work on our degree while we follow our men around the world. The best part of this school is that they don't nickle and dime you to death and they have a great undergrad book grant that pays for your books. =)

Thanks for the insight, JStrick255! It makes perfect sense for military schools would put curriculum online.

Thank you all. Actually, when I posted the qeation, I already believed it to be legitimate. Their webpage provides the information and links you would need to verify their acceditation. I was accepted there yesterday, although it might be awhile before i can take classes.

Actually, International Relations makes me nervous. I Guess I can enter the peace corps with it... but my interest is actually Geographic information systems. I have 4 months left in my GI bil, so I am thinking I could get a certificate in intelligence analyis from AMU. Then my GI bill will run out, and I can apply for 12 months of the post 9-11 Gi bill (at 90% benefits since i only served 33 monthe after 9-11),
Then I can get a BS in GIS from American Sentinel university.
ASU looks like a similar military friendly university. What interests me is their credit transfer policy looks even better than AMU's. My goal is to enter with 90 sem transfer credits (I have 87 civilian ones, plus my MOS [98K] training, which should be woth like 15 credits, maybe)

I've tried to research American Sentenel University. Motly I find great review on it, but it is not a participant in Title IV
"Status as a Title IV eligible, non-participating institution for American Sentinel University means our students benefit in significant ways: You may be eligible for an in-school student loan payment deferment, and/or you may be eligible for educational tax credits"
I always thought no financial aid is bad...they are saying it's good. well if I am using GI bill, I don't have to pay taxes anyway. I guess i'll just have to talk to them and get a prelim credit trans. eval.

^ I think you would really have to think long and hard about a school which does not participate in fin aid at all.
I also think that looking up a thing or two about that school might want you to pick the other one on your list or the one I linked to in my original posting.
It would be sad for someone who wants to get in the line of work you do, OP, to go to a school which does not seem to be the most Kosher choice.

Two regionally accredited universities that accept up to 90 Semester Hours of transfer credit are http://www.ashford.edu/ and UMUC Both have extensive on-line programs. Ashford has a physical campus in Clinton, Iowa. UMUC offers live instruction on and near military bases world wide, and at several locations in Maryland. One of these might be a good match for you.
Wishing you all the best!
