What would people think would be a good major if my future goal would be to enter medical school. I am also somewhat undecided in what type of doctor I want to be, but nevertheless any suggestions for choosing a major in general?
My best friend is over at Johns Hopkins and he says that he is one of three Physics pre-meds. I think most people pick Bio because they think it's going to help them get into Med School kind of like how a lot of people think you need to be a political science major to get into Law School. Just take the Bio, Chem, Physics, etc...pre-med classes and major in whatever you like and think you'll do well in.
Yeah , you can major in anything you want as long as you fufill pre-med requirements. I know a girl who majored in Chinese history and pre-med, and now she goes to a really good med school.
In fact, if you choose a major that isn't popular for premeds, like a humanity or something, then you'll first stand out among the throngs of biology majors, and second show that you have wellrounded interests. However, make sure you still take the classes needed to get into med school.
