How much does accreditation matter in Journalism?

(I didn't get any replies to this post on the Search & Selection forum, so I thought I'd try asking here.)

The Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communications (ACEJMC) lists a seemingly small list of accredited journalism programs. Many are within state universities.

As a prospective Journalism major who is potentially double majoring in another social sciences field, I would like to know how important this accreditation should weigh in on picking a college.

Is going to a less prestigious state university that's accredited a better choice than going to a more prestigious university that isn't?
