psychobiology is an older branch. Started 100-150 years ago? when some psychologists decided to explore the biological basis of psychological phenomenon. Neuroscience is extremely young, maybe 30-50 years? And it is much more biology-based, much more interdisciplinary. You have people from all fields of biomedical research (geneticists, cell biologists, etc) turning into neuroscience research.
