Good schools for Microbiology?

I'm having trouble finding schools I like that have microbiology as their major. I live in Ohio. I'm willing to go out of state but stay on the east coast or in the general area, or even in Ohio. BUT I do not want to go to OU or OSU.

You're not going to find a whole lot of schools with microbiology as an undergraduate major. Most people who want to become microbiologists major in biology or biochemistry and then study microbiology in graduate school where it's an actual major/focus. Any well known, big public research institution will prepare you well enough for graduate study in microbiology, as well as private schools with large endowments who invest heavily in their own research labs.

Do a search on collegeboard.com for schools that offer a major in microbiology (or sometimes, listed as bacteriology). You'll find quite a few schools that offer a major in it. At some other schools with a biology major, microbiology may be a specialized track within the major. At the undergrad level, you are somewhat more likely to find a specialized major in microbiology at the various landgrant state universities, especially in the Colleges of Agriculture.

The American Society for Microbiology lists curriculum recommendations for microbiology majors here:
ASM's Curriculum Recommendations: Microbiology Majors Program
