did i just f up my major? chem vs chem engineering

I just stumbled onto a chemistry forum and read a lot of depressing news..... Chemistry majors are having an extremely tough time finding jobs. Chemical Engineering however, seemed to be thriving right now with a higher starting salary and higher hiring rate

I'm a bit worried that I will not find a job once i graduate, should i switch majors while i still can?

Well, considering my brother got his Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering Degree in May from NC State and still hasn't got offered a job even though he applies to 20+ a day.... I'd just stay where you are.

But it's still easier to get a job with that than Chemistry in this economy and also pays a lot more. I would switch to Chemical Engineering if you're after money.

chem degree is only worth it if you go for Ph.D or MBA after in my opinion.
