Hi there,

I am looking to completing my degree as a returning student.
I went to school from 99-02 at university but then quit and have been working in IT ever since then. I make a good wage around 50k a year with no degree. But think perhaps not having one is limiting me towards certain positions. I was wondering with college prices if it would even be worth the investment.

I have around 70 out of 120 hours complete. I left university as I got disqualified from the school I was in after a hard time in my life, I had two bad semester back to back Fall/Spring then I was done as I was in a limited access program which required certain courses and a 3.2 GPA. I was only 20 at the time now I am 29. Because of that and the F's and W's those 2 semesters I don't qualify for finaid.

I was contemplating what my best route would be career wise. There are no night colleges around here where I could complete my degree, although I could do an A.S. in Computer Science at the local Junior College, but not sure if that would be helpful either. I can't find any B.S. C.S. universities online either.

I feel limited with some employers because of not having my B.S. and feel it might hurt me down the road, I don't see any issues in the course load... I was summa cum laude (basically valedictorian) of my high school and was taking AP classes such as statistics in 10th grade. I had already taken multiple Calc in high school as well, so I didn't not complete college because of any limitations or I thought the course work was hard. I just never went to class, had a bad year, then I was out for the count.

The other options I have thought are doing a B.S. in Business online from a real university.
There are only a few options for that though, and I am in California. It would cost around 20K dollars to do this at CSU East Bay. I don't qualify for any financial aid due to too many attempts because of those 2 semesters. Why did I fail them and w others? Hrrm... well going to class MIGHT help.

There are other programs I could do like world campus at Penn State but those are also pretty hefty price tags. I'm wondering if it would even be worth it given that I already have 8 years of industry experience. Or if I should not worry about it and focus more on some IT certifications.

Anyway, just seeking some advice.
