Major in Economics then get MBA??

I'm currently a student at Mizzou. My original plan was to go into finance, but unfortunately I did not get into the program. I am now considering majoring in economics in the school of A&S (either a BA or BS). My long term goal is to get my MBA, so I need to factor that in. I just wanted some advice as to how well this could potentially work out. I want to be able to find a somewhat decent job that can give me an opportunity to get some good work experience for MBA admissions.

This is the route I'm chosing. It seems redundant to follow a BBA with a MBA.

MBA's are becoming a dime a dozen. You'd have no problem getting a MBA with a degree in Economics.

There are very few prerequisites (undergrad majors) for MBA programs. It's similar to Law School. MBA programs have become cash cows for universities. Executive MBA, Online MBA, Professional MBA, Weekend MBA. If you (or your employer) is willing to put up the tuition $$$, then the colleges are willing to take you.

I wouldn't get an MBA unless you've worked for several years in a business/corporate field that requires it to be promoted. I WOULD NOT go directly from undergrad to a MBA program without any work experience. You run a serious risk of having too much education and too little work experience when you go to look for a job.
