Anyone know how long after State judging the winners that move onto National are notified?

My letter, the one that said I moved onto the next level of judging, said that National Finalists would be notifed in late February or early March. I'm in Cali, so I'm really held in suspense right now.

I just got a second letter stating that I was forwarded to the next level of judging even though I got a similar letter saying I was advancing to state level judging a long time ago.

This time it says I advanced beyond the north district stage. Last time it just said I was forwarded to state level judging.

Does this make sense slash, anyone have any similar experiences?

D just found out that she is a state finalist moving on to the nationals so guaranteed 1000 a year for 4 years! so excited for her! Now for all of the paperwork to try for more money!!

How do you know you are a state finalist? Did they specifically say that or is it because you were told you were advanced to state judging and then now received a second letter saying you were forwarded to the next level?

D got a phonecall from the state chairperson with all of the news and details! The committee must have met and decided today. Evidently he was very nice and told her how successful she will be in the future and was very complimentary based on her application. She is now awaiting another letter with the specifics of what paperwork to turn in and have completed by 3/23. However he did specifically tell her that she will at least get the 1000.00 per year in addition to the local scholarship and that it could be more, but only 18 students in the nation will improve that dollar amount. Another essay, tax info, letters of rec are all expected soon. Wishing all of you best of luck in your state! All of you work so hard and are all deserving!

Marinebio444, no idea. I don't think he told my D. Perhaps it will be in the letter. I will keep you posted if it reveals any more.

My D also was called last night! She too is getting the $1000 per year and will be filling out the next round of apps.
Just wondering, she did not receive any $$ from our local lodge...is that typical? I read here that many of you did. (Not to be greedy or anything, just curious!)

On Jan 7, I got my first letter that I moved to district level.
Then nothing, but I moved from district to state level (California-Hawaii).
Today, Feb 13, I got my second letter -it was a bad news.
I was not selected to the national level.

Just got a letter from California-Hawaii judging. I was offered a $800 scholarship, but not forwarded to national. Good luck to everyone!

Just received my letter from the California-Hawaii Elks Association and have been awarded an Association level award of $800 and a District level award of $700! Although I will not be advancing to the national level. Good luck everyone!

Received a letter from Cali-Hawaii at 3 pm today. I got a District award of $200, and I'll be moving on to Nationals!

I got my California-Hawaii letter and it says my app is being forwarded to ENF and I will be notified if I am a Finalist in late February. I got a District Award of $700, but there is no mention of a State Association scholarship What does this mean??
