Just wanted to say Break a Leg to all those visiting/ auditioning on campus this weekend. Try to make the most of the people involved and around the process as well as the nice surrounding town. These are just some of the things that set Otterbein apart from the rest; aside, of course, from its program. Have a great weekend!

Let me add my best wishes to all those auditioning tomorrow. I look forward to seeing your work and getting to talk to you later in the afternoon. If you want to get a sense of what the audition will be like, see my first two posts on the thread labelled "Otterbein College". If travel to campus is still ahead of you, please drive carefully.

I'll see you in the morning!

Best wishes,

Dr. John

My S has been academically accepted with a scholarship as well and will be auditioning in Chicago on the 7th (his 18th birthday!). Please be kind!

Throughout this whole process, I am so happy to consistently receive letters of my acamdemic acceptance. It makes me feel very welcome and accepted towards the Otterbein family, despite the fact that I may or may not get into the program of my choice. :-)

I'm a senior and a hopeful MT major when and if I get accepted into a MT program. My mom works at Gettysburg College and put Otterbein on my tuition exchange form on a whim and before I had even applied there, they offered me full tuition. This sort of sent up a red flag for me because they didn't know anything about me. I had never heard about Otterbein before this and would like to know a little bit about it. Should I be worried about this, or should I be psyched about the offer?

Hey

MizMoya,
If I understand this situation correctly, I wouldn't be concerned--If you're academically upstanding and you've got strong extracurriculars, I'm sure Otterbein College would love to have you, and that's why they expressed interest. Otterbein generally knows what it wants, academically and within the theatre department--once the faculty know you can fit in the academic class and the freshman BFA "cast", they will do everything in their power to get you here, so it doesn't surprise that they'd reach out to you. In summary, don't be worried--if anything, feel great that you've already been accepted academically and schedule an audition post-haste! Feel free to PM me if you have more questions or friend me on Facebook (screenname justsoicanbthere).
Break a leg with everything!

MizMoya, it's great that you have already been accepted academically, but I am sure you understand that you now have to be accepted into the MT degree program, which means (as linus said) scheduling an audition. Good luck!

My D got notified of her academic acceptance to Otterbein also. Now if we can just make it through the audition. As excited as she was about the academic acceptance I can't imagine what it will be like if she makes the program!

It appears College Board is the holdup on my D's application. I don't understand why it takes so long for the scores to be sent once they are ordered. If I can get a package in a few days, then 3-5 wks for the scores to be sent is just too long.

Don't feel too bad, cartera! Some scores that my daughter sent in AUGUST still have not arrived/been logged in at some of her schools.

Oh gee - that makes me feel worse. There are several schools that don't schedule auditions until the file is complete or she has been accepted. I thought she was taking care of things so early and that we would have all the auditions scheduled by now, but I never thought about the SAT scores taking so long. I advised that she wait until the apps were ready to send the scores so the scores didn't get there before the apps - now I know better.

What do you do if the SAT scores don't make it to the college? Anyone with experience with that? Out of 10 schools, only 1 has not received my son's scores--and they were ordered Sept. 4 and sent via the internet on Sept. 7. I feel certain there's a filing problem somewhere!

The processing date on College Board is the date they take your money I think. I don't think it has anything to do with when they are sent. I have checked with 3 schools and all of them have everything but the SAT scores. The processing date on CB is October 5 so it will be 3 weeks this Friday. I thought that might be the longest it would take but others are telling me it is taking 3-5 weeks.
