Dorm/roomate assignments!

My D got her's yesterday! She will be in Clemments Hall. I noticed on the letter they have given details about move-in day on the 6th, ie: where to check-in, where to park, what time slot etc. but I don't see any info for the kids moving in early for orientation except for the date. Am I missing something? Would love to hear where everyone's kids ended up. We are down to the wire now, 4 weeks!

So far it seems that everyone has their assignment that Kyle knows - but his has not come yet! His roommate did 'facebook' him last night - and they actually met at orientation (but they didn't know then) We are assuming Dunlap ....... Have you looked at the thread in College Conf regarding what MT et al majors should bring w/ them? Interesting. How is the book coming for your D? My S started and they restarted taking notes. I think he is close to being done.

These last 4 weeks will go fast!

Hey Mum! That's strange, I wonder why they can't stay in their room if they are letting them move in early? I guess she can stay at the hotel with us but I think I booked a room with 1 king bed!

My D talked to her roomate yesterday so I think they can finally start deciding who will bring what. Any big Items we will have to purchase up there as there won't be any room in the car. That's ok though as I know it will be cheaper there!

FYI

Just a note that last year when we moved our son in early, coming from NJ, he was allowed to stay in his room from that point on. Some opt to stay with their families in their hotels since the dorms are still a bit empty, but the students usually are allowed to stay once they've signed in at registration. Maybe the rules have changed a bit. I'd double check. We'll be coming out the later weekend to help him move in to his apartment. Perhaps we'll meet
some of you. Have a great orientation and good luck!

Nan,I was not sure if they could stay in the Dorm, I would think she would stay at the Hotel until her roommate moves in.Thanks abparent for the info. it was a little unclear to me.
