First of all, I want to thank all the people who stopped by during the unified auditions to say hello. It was great meeting you, and I very much appreciate the kind words. Students, you did good work, and you will make our choices extremely difficult; that's what you're supposed to do.

While we were in Chicago, we got the very exciting news that Mandy Bruno, MT class of 2004, was nominated for an Emmy as Outstanding Younger Actress in a Drama Series for her work as "Marina" on GUIDING LIGHT. Here's the link to an article about the Emmy nominations:

Congratulations! Your pride is understandable. I remember seeing Mandy in your Senior Showcase when we were visiting Otterbein. She was one of our favorites! LOADS of talent!

doctorjohn - Congratulations! It must be so fullfilling to hear wonderful news about your students. Even though you know you've given your kids the best of training, it's great to see that OTHERS in the field also see the talent.

Are the acceptance numbers still 8..4 guys/4 girls??..and also is this march 4th audition the last audition for otterbein??

Theatrejock:

Yes, and yes. We're looking for 4 men and 4 women in Musical Theatre, 4 men and 4 women in Acting. March 4 is our last audition date.

One thing to clarify: students auditioning for MT will also be considered for the BFA in Acting, the BA in Theatre, the BA and BME in Music, and the Dance Minor. No additional audition is necessary, but it is helpful for us to know that someone would be open to such an offer. That's one of the reasons why the afternoon interview is so important to us.

Especially gifted vocalists may also be invited back to audition for the Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance, if they're interested in being considered.
