Assalamu Alaikum everyone,
I'm new to this forum so I guess I should make a formal introduction.
In my O-level, I've got 4 A*'s(Math, Physics, Chem, Computer Std), 3 A's (English, Urdu, Pak Studies) and one B in Islamiat. I'm waiting for my AS level result. I'm hoping 3 A's and an A*. (I gave Math, Phy, Chem and complete Applied ICT)
I plan to give my SAT 1 in October aswell and SAT-2 in january.
I'm good student, but obviously not the best. I've never been first in class. However i still have hope this year.
And Yeah my EC's are not too great either. I've been to one intra-school MUN and plan to go for an inter-school MUN this summer. I've been to Lums Psifi. Tutored Applied ICT to two students. I play football, plan to take up rugby. I've participated in few EC's and won none
Btw Love to read and write. I blog aswell.
I plan to take many EC's this year and try my luck in applying foreign unis. Though I dont think my family will be able to financialy support, i still got hope. I hear a lot about germany.
I just want to do my best. Even if i dont make it doesn't matter, cuz there's always grad school or further studies. Doing your best matters, not winning or losing.

Internship at shifah

Hey,
My friends just have started doing internship at Shifah International hospital Islamabad. They take Bio and plan to goto medical field. I on the other hand dont take bio and so I plan for a career in engineering. But friends were still consistent saying that i should do internship aswell.
My question is should I? i mean will it be really worth it? Will it help me in my resume? Or is doing an internship in some NGO better?

Which edition should I use?

AOA,
I just started off preparing for my SAT and found an old Barrons book my brother used when he was preparing for his SAT. That edition was published in 2005. Does it matter? I mean should I used it or buy a newer edition? Is there any difference in content?

IbnSina, about the internship, you should do it anyhow, it'll add up to your profile as another plus in your admission application, I know a guy from two years back, he's now on a scholarship at Furman and doing engineering, back here he did like 2 months of internship on Environmental issues, and i'm pretty sure, these issues have nothing to do with what major he chose. Dont lose hope over what you dont have, try to highlight what YOU already have.

About the SAT book, as far as I know, they last changed the pattern back in 2005, if i'm not mistaken, so that book would pretty much do for you but to be on the safe side you should get a latest version of either McGraw Hill or Barrons.

You all should stay on the 2015 thread rather than this one, it'll create more unity and all us seniors are there who can help you all with college admissions and all. Also, that's the most active and popular pakistani thread here. Just a thought. I'd recommend you start posting there.

Alos, I have nothing better to do with my summers, so if someone wants to send me their essays or something for proof checking and all, I'll be more than happy.
