^All I know about him was that he was a U.S. national.
^^For IPhO, you have to give the NSTC test in January. Then if you're selected you'll be invited for camps in October, November etc. For IMO there are two ways, either you give the NSTC or you give the NMO. For the NMO, you give it in November and are invited for the camp in December if you're selected. Then there are just lots of camps and people get eliminated and the final few are selected.

Last year was epic for Pak Team/ National Champion debaters. Of the 3 members who were A2s, 1 got into HYPS and Dartmouth. The other into Cornell and Oxford. Two other speakers who didn't make it to the team but spoke at the final of the Nationals both got HYP. This year, too, the 3rd best speaker at Nationals and reserve for the Pak Team got into Stanford EA.

That Ahmar public school thing was done as a joke by a friend of mine. I need not mention his name. It's pretty obvious what his name is. Also, Harvard likely letters are only sent out for athletes.

bluelovexD, There is a substantial Asian (that includes Pakistani and Indian Americans) and foreign student population at Richmond, that usually has higher SAT scores than Whites. Low diversity in this case means fewer minoritiy (Mexican, Puerto Rican and Black) students admitted under Affirmative Action. I am certain most white students can appreciate the difference.
You should contact the international student office and Pakistani student association on campus to find out about the actual number of Pakistani students on campus. Also find out about the size of the Pakistani community in Richmond: Company Name

^^ Exactly. That's what makes this scenario all the more confusing. Was the kid admitted or not?

They do send out likely letters to applicants with outstanding non-athletic attributes. Last year, 100 students who were not athletes got likely letters. So, its possible.

| This is not true. Plenty of non-athletes get LL's as well.

@cool39 hahaha, yes. kind of. I'm one-fifth of the 5-member Pak Team, and my school (lgs jt) beat kgs in the final of this year's Nationals.
that's kind of like my main extra-curricular activity. what about you?

@Arsalh- no, no. I hadn't taken my SAT IIs then. Someone from bdc who had the same SAT score as I did applied to Stanford ED so that's why you're confused.

that's probably because your SAT score is synonymous with your identity in Lahore. |
