@leo118- completely agree. it can complement an already strong application, or act as the saving grace, to some extent, of a not-so strong one, but on its own, its just one number out of the many colleges consider.
did anyone here apply to UChicago? It's my 2nd/3rd choice. Decisions come out in a week. O.O
Also, anyone apply to nyuad? I went there for a 'candidate weekend' and it does look great.

Lol, SAT scores come way down in the list of academics. The first thing they see is your transcript. This was said by a Cornell admissions officer. Of course, the "lol" was added by me.

I didn't commit to any major because, frankly, I have no idea of what I would want to end up studying. I hate the fact that Penn and Cornell made me apply to particular schools.

@gtfotu: why do you think he shouldn't have applied? It's not good enough?
I'm asking because I'm thinking of applying next year.

@gtofu- Wharton at Penn (Suicide, I know, but I only did it because I had O level distinctions in these subjects) and Arts and Sciences at Cornell. You?

Lol, I'm already at college. I'm from the Class of 2015, remember? I was very active on that thread when it was time for me to apply, etc. Me and my friend are the ones who really pushed for pakistan to have it's own forum. We were just a sub-forum under international admissions before. I just thought I'd stop by the class of 2016 to check up on how the class is doing this year, haha, and also if anyone needs help, I'm more than glad to. NYUAD is not too prestigious, but I guess it's not too bad if you apply there for business. Given alibhai's stats, NYUAD is on the border line of a bac up for him, honestly.

But since it's still NYU, applying there for econ or business is not a bad idea given you have mediocre stats, because if you get in, it's still NYU although it's a satellite campus. So, you will have connections with Stern. Not a bad idea to get an affiliation with Stern if you have mediocre stats.

@alibhai: are those at world level or in the country?
Acceptance rate of 1%, need blind, and still a safety for a strong ivy applicant like Ali? Comes across as a joke to me to be honest. Definitely reconsidering my plans here XD
