Prep for the VP debate

Interesting article on how Palin prepped for, and performed in, the debates for the Alaska governor's race.

>>>> As she began her run for governor of Alaska, Palin repeatedly proved difficult to prep for a debate, recalled her two former political aides, who had pivotal roles during her campaign but declined to be identified because of their continuing involvement in Alaska politics.

Palin, the former aides said, had a sharply limited attention span for absorbing the facts and policy angles required for all-topics debate preparation. Staffers were rarely able to get her to sit for more than half an hour of background work at a time before her concentration waned, preoccupied by cellphone calls and family affairs. "We were always fighting for her attention," said one of the aides.>>>>

My immediate thought upon seeing this topic was, yes, I plan on preparing snacks to eat while I watch.

You're assuming Good Ol' Joe is going to let her get a word in edge-wise.

Moderator: "Senator, I asked for a 2 minute answer. You've been going on now for 3 hours..."

Yep, I will definitely be glued to the telly Thusday night, mostly out of a morbid sense of fascination similar to the one I would get watching a train wreck. Watching the two of them should be almost as good as watching Monty Python's "Twit of the Year" scetch. Unfortunately, we'll all get on here afterwards and claim "victory" for our side...

Bullet, that is what is so amusing, the blame game. I listened to a radio station today where each program stomped on the Democrats. I am sure that there were other stations out there slamming the Republicans. It's sickening to hear and to watch. Indeed, a train wreck, and seems no one has stepped up for the common good.

I was charmed by Palin and family in the beginning. I thought she was a good if different role model for working woman. The more I read about her and her conduct the more convinced that Obama/Biden would be a better choice for the country. That kind of behavior give woman professional a bad name. Also it reminds me of Bush - intellectually shallow and incurious, but politically adept to get where they are.

I still wish people will stop belittling her though.

So does Bush give men a bad name?

Well, I refuse to be tarred by Sarah Palin. I am a professional and quite respected in my field, thank you. By both men and women.

Palin claimed to Katie Couric that she read "everything" in answer to a question about where she got her information. She could not name a single title of newspaper, journal, magazine or even TV show. Ugh....

I thought Bush gave Harvard MBAs a bad name, in light of the financial crisis. Someone said Bush gave Harvard cheerleaders a bad name. Wait, are there cheerleaders at Harvard ?

Well, kill me if this question/observation is politically incorrect, but:

How can Palin be a mother to young Trig if she's campaining (I spelled that wrong) for three solid months before the election? I read that Palin and family are sequestered at one of McCain's houses, so I guess she takes breaks to see Trig. But -- as a woman who went back to work after both of my kids were three months, and who's worked full-time forever -- I don't understand how she can be VP and a mother.

On another note, I hope that one of the questions that Gwen Ifill asks on Thursday night is whether Palin now understands what the Vice President does.

I'm curious to know what Dick Cheney thinks of her. Now that would be interesting.

I imagine he thinks of her as the perfect puppet by which to continue his evil machinations...but I wear tin-foil as part of my daily attire...it's the latest fashion, you know.

I used to be very good at cramming for tests. I could sit on the bus on the way to school (double decker red where I am from rather than yellow school bus) and read a few chapters. First thing when i started the test skim through the questions to see if there were any on what i had just read. Answer those first - then go onto the rest which I usually knew something about. I always did well on tests. Promptly forgot the subject matter after the test. If you asked me to answer the same question the next day ..... yeah - not so good. Not what you would want in a VP.
