Rep Boehner: on carbon emissions

Did anyone else see Rep Boehner talk about how we all "breathe out carbon dioxide, so how can it be destroying the environment?" and then talk about the gas that cows emit?
He was on ABC this week... if you haven't seen it you should watch it...
Regardless of politics, you would think that he would be informed on the subject before speaking in front of the nation and the world...at least as informed as our high school students are...

but how can we trust all the fuzzy scientists that the liberal media and their lapdogs in 99% of the scientific community say?

the whole cows thing is a somewhat legitimate concern. which is why i say kill them before they can fart again. and so i can feast on pure bovine goodness.

Methane is far greater threat than carbon dioxide.

We all need to breathe, but cows really need to cut down on the gas leaks. It makes breathing much more difficult, don't you think?

So if every car in America gets smog checked like we have to do in California with our cars, that will cut down the Carbon Dioxide. That is easy to do.

Will we also have to take fewer breaths a minute, since this will limit our CO2 output?

Seems to be Boehner's using up more than his fair share every time he goes on t.v. Maybe if he stayed home once in a while (his tan's not going to maintain itself....), the problem would be cut in half.

Novelisto,

Good one.

Perhaps all of the Congress, the Senate and the Talk Radio/Cable TV blowhards (and there are many on both sides of the aisle) sat it out for a day (or week) without speaking, the problem would be go away, entirely.

I don't think it will work with terrorists or enemy combatants, however.

Too bad. It would be much easier and less controversial to employ in wartime.

Inconvenient Truths

Advocates (both political and scientific) for public policy that controls CO2 emissions as a vehicle to address global warming (or is that climate change?) owe us all explanations for the following inconvenient truths:
  • NASA: Mars is Melting:
    Quote:
And for three Mars summers in a row, deposits of frozen carbon dioxide near Mars' south pole have shrunk from the previous year's size, suggesting a climate change in progress.
  • Orbiter's Long Life Helps Scientists Track Changes on Mars:
    Quote:
New gullies that did not exist in mid-2002 have appeared on a Martian sand dune.

That's just one of the surprising discoveries that have resulted from the extended life of NASA's Mars Global Surveyor, which this month began its ninth year in orbit around Mars. Boulders tumbling down a Martian slope left tracks that weren't there two years ago. New impact craters formed since the 1970s suggest changes to age-estimating models. And for three Mars summers in a row, deposits of frozen carbon dioxide near Mars' south pole have shrunk from the previous year's size, suggesting a climate change in progress...
  • National Geographic News: http://Mars Melt Hints at Solar, Not...Scientist Says:
    Quote:
Simultaneous warming on Earth and Mars suggests that our planet's recent climate changes have a natural—and not a human- induced—cause, according to one scientist's controversial theory.

Earth is currently experiencing rapid warming, which the vast majority of climate scientists says is due to humans pumping huge amounts of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. (Get an overview: "Global Warming Fast Facts".)

Mars, too, appears to be enjoying more mild and balmy temperatures. In 2005 data from NASA's Mars Global Surveyor and Odyssey missions revealed that the carbon dioxide "ice caps" near Mars's south pole had been diminishing for three summers in a row...
  • Climate change hits Mars:
    Quote:
Mars is being hit by rapid climate change and it is happening so fast that the red planet could lose its southern ice cap, writes Jonathan Leake.

Scientists from Nasa say that Mars has warmed by about 0.5C since the 1970s. This is similar to the warming experienced on Earth over approximately the same period...
  • Is the Sun Heating Up?:
    Quote:
"The Sun right now is probably averaging over several decades the most active it's been in 400 years."- Sallie Baliunas, Ph.D., Harvard Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics...

...The Martian South polar ice cap shrinking has been accelerating since 1999 at a "prodigious rate," according to Michael Malin, Principal Investigator for the Mars Orbiter Camera. Dr. Malin said, "The images documenting changes from 1999 to 2005 suggest the Martian climate is presently warmer * and perhaps getting warmer still * than it was several decades or even centuries ago."...
  • NASA: Astronomy Picture of the Day:
    Quote:
...Jupiter’s recent outbreak of red spots is likely related to large scale climate change as the gas giant planet is getting warmer near the equator...

I honestly hate global warming people. I hate the phrases like "We need to save the earth". The earth will be fine, its been frozen, on fire and been hit my meteoroids. Im sure the earth will survive a few cars and a few pepsi bottles and a coke can or two.

The human race is ****ed, but that I dont care about.

Soon eneogh the rich will have you all beliveing you need to pay carbon taxes to "Save the Planet". Fools. Wake up. Its Solar Flares.
