I wouldn't be surprised to learn that no cash was directly exchanged. I'd expect a lawyer to be smarter than that. But of course, the young woman may have had an expectation of a quid pro quo because she and he knew that she could make much trouble for him by telling tales to his family, friends and employer.

It's not the deed; it's the hypocrisy.

For example, it's not so much a problem that David Vitter was hiring prostitutes. It was that he was being a John while trying to impeach Clinton for having an affair.
