Then you are guilty because you can't get basic ideas straight and what you're doing is lumping a bunch of them other people together because you can't distinguish between them.

It's perfectly fine to be opposed to the war in Afghanistan. I have mixed feelings about it. I know people who think we should get out no matter what and I know people who think we need to stay because the consequences in the region, in the world would be too terrible. I don't know the answer because I can't tell the future, but I do know the difference between Iran and Afghanistan and the people in them. I can also recognize that reality is a lot more complex than lumping Muslim places together and then complaining about how we don't treat them exactly the same.

Ok, in terms of one syllable or less so that even people like you can understand it.

I started this semijoke thread to make fun of the obvious dissonance between the pontificator in chief's public outrage over the Iranian election and his wholehearted embrace of the result of the equally-rigged process in Afghanistan. As most of the participants clearly understood, it was not designed to be an in depth analysis of the differences between the two countries or the two presidents.

What a killjoy!

If you're making a joke, then try making it sound even slightly like a joke. You only started to use words like "lighten up" when I got angry at you.

And believe me, I was angry because it really bothers me when left-leaning people make the elemental mistake of lumping people together in the very way they say they abhor. If some of the rightist semi-morons who post on CC had put that up, I would have ignored it because that kind of illogical bias is exactly what they do.
