Karzai is our boy, our evil dictator. Don't worry. His turn will come, just like Saddam Hussain (our previous evil dictator).
Ahmadinejad is the guy our previous boy Saddam would have whacked for us if we hadn't so hastily discarded him. Now our own people will have to bleed and die to accomplish the task.
One would think the rest of the world would catch on after a while and it would get really hard to recruit evil dictators. I guess the lure of power is just too great.

Good middle eastern food? I am always on the lookout for that. Currently, I am recommending Zaytinya, in DC. Excellent.
Ahmadinejad - has a wardrobe of Member's Only jackets.

Ahmadinejad is the president of a real country instead of a collection of villages.

One is the Holocaust-denying, 12th imam believing president of a country that has armed, trained, organized, and sponsored terrorist groups throughout the world including Lebanon, Gaza, Iraq, Bosnia, Philippines, Africa, and Latin America (with probable sleeper cells in North America) and is now actively seeking nuclear weapons capability while lying to the world.
The other is a snappy dresser.

I don't get the question. So we support Karzai - while holding our nose and trying to get political change. Are we supposed to support the President of Iran just because they're both Muslim? Are you, despite your anti-American notes, a racist who thinks there is no difference between the politics and countries of the Muslim world? Do you think Persians are the same as Afghans?

There is one thing common to both Persians and Afgans; "They" are not "us". It will take generations, not just years, to break that paradigm.

Lighten up.
But seriously, if being vehemently opposed to committing large numbers of American troops and vast amounts of resources in support of a corrupt autocrat as part of an ill-conceived plan to escalate unwinnable travesty of a conflict makes me anti-American or a racist, I plead guilty.
I recall that the main character in Stranger in a Strange Land (whose name escapes me) asked why we laughed and responded "because it hurts too much to cry."
