H absolutely hates the catheter commercial.

I can't stand the reverse mortgage commercials. I never liked Fred Thompson, but I used to like Robert Wagner.

I like the satirical commercial (I guess it's for the copy shop) where the two opposing candidates meet and talk about keeping the campaign clean. At the end they bring out the one's "Honk if you had an affair with X" lawn sign. I think that's hysterical, but we're not in a swing state so didn't have to deal with so many political commercials.

I'm tired of the Aflack duck, too. In addition to the Gekko.

I'm also getting tired of the State Farm commercials where the pitchman's voice takes over in various scenarios. Although the one with the poodle is cute.

At least the State Farm commercials don't assume you have the IQ of a poodle.

Living in Cincinnati, I thought I would be thrilled to see the end of the non-ending political ads. Just now I saw that catheter ad (yuck!) three times in a row.

Nothing could make the political ads look good. I can't count how many times I heard "Maggie Hassan lives in a half million dollar house and doesn't pay property taxes but wants to raise your taxes." I don't live in NH. I didn't even know who she is - now she's governor-elect so the ad didn't work. I'd rather do the prep for a colonoscopy than watch more of these ads.

tango14, that's why I chose poodle!! They may be among the most intelligent breed of dogs, but they're still dogs. And, except for the State Farm commercials, the insurance company commercials treat us as if we're idiots.

Revenge will be interesting this weekend. Target and Neiman Marcus will be the exclusive sponsors for the show this Sunday and feature vignettes.

On the watermelon ad - I only connected it to GEICO because of this thread - I've seen it a ton of times but I didn't pay enough attention to it to determine who the sponsor was. So the ad may have been a success in being remembered but may not work all that well in terms of selling the product.

I do associate the Gecko ads with GEICO. Those ads are okay as long as they keep changing them up regularly.

We maintain the very bad practice of leaving the TV on while we eat dinner. I admit it is not a good thing to do, but just to remind us they always seem to run commercials for digestive or elimination or ED related products while we are eating.

A radio station I often have on while making dinner runs commercials for a dentist that talks about 'rotting gums, pus, and foul breath'. Don't they know it's the dinner hour?
