| Another way I also use my Swiffer mop (using the wet wipes) is on my bathroom walls. I have cream colored walls and the Swiffer does a great job. Of course, my H & S keep asking me - what are you mopping off? There is grime in there, but not too obvious to them. I am no neat freak, but I tend to see dirt where no else seems to notice. |

| worrywart, I live near Philadelphia and can buy Krud Kutter in grocery stores, big box stores, and my local mom-and-pop hardware store. I don't know how widely it's distributed, but it's made by Supreme Chemicals of Georgia, Inc., in Cumming, GA. I originally bought it because the name amused me....
I've used it everywhere in the house, from stained counters to greasy stovetops - it even gets up dried latex paint from wood floors. No odor, and it doesn't damage my skin. The label says it contains "a proprietary blend of biodegradable surfactants, detergents, and emulsifiers, in a water based solution. No petroleum solvents, bleach or ammonia."
Now all I have to get a Magic Sponge and I will be set! |

| I totally forgot to mention the most amazing cleaning product (in my books): Spot Shot carpet cleaner! It is the only one that takes care of the "presents" my kitties sometimes leave on the carpets. Gotta swing by the Home Depot tonight and stock up - shedding season is around the corner!
Spot Shot even took care of the red wine spill we had during New Year's celebration. To everyone's amazement, the deep burgundy spot on the light gray carpet went away in a couple of minutes. |

| I read the whole thread to see if anybody mentioned Spot Shot, and here it is on the latest post! My cleaning lady started using it on all her houses after she tried mine. I also use it on kitty spots.
In Germany they use very few chemicals. It was hard to learn how to clean without my favorite products. I learned from my neighbors - the absolute best and easiest way to wash windows, mirrors, and other glass, is to wipe it down with plain water, and dry with a microfiber cloth. No streaks, very clean! So much easier than Windex!
They control shower mildew by squeegee-ing the shower after every use. It didn't work so well for me - I still had to attack spots. But I think I shower more often than they do. |

| Well, now I can add something else to my Home Depot list for today!! Anything that works on those cat presents will be a friend of mine!! My carpets are light beige and the cats like to make sure they leave a surprise in eveyone's room; they don't like to pick favorites!
Living in Florida for a few years we tried the squeegee method after each shower, but I still felt the need to clean once a week. |

| LOL, snowball! One of my cats likes to lounge at the top of our carpeted stairs, and the consequences of her hairballs literally cascade down the stairs. I wish she'd confine her accidents to a room!
I also use the squeegee method in our tiled shower, and then I wipe it dry with a towel. It takes a few more minutes every morning, but the results are amazing. Mold and mildew do not thrive where there is no moisture. |

| Watch out with Spot Shot. It's got some serious organic solvents in there (the kind that are dangerous to inhale)--use it with the window open! But it does work, in a pinch. |

| Simple Green It is non-toxic, made in USA. I buy it at the hardware store (Home depot carries it) in gallon jugs which last more than a year (it is concentrated). Works on everything, except mirrors/glass (streaks or maybe I didn't dilute it enough). Good (better than bleach anyway) for septic tanks (which we are on). |

| Bummer I headed to my local Wal-Mart today, on a high at the prospect of purchasing my chosen "wow" cleaning products (what's wrong with this picture?)....
No dice on Krud Kutter, Dawn Power Dissolver or The Works general bathroom/shower cleaner. They did have The Works toilet bowl cleaner but I don't need that. At least I already have the Magic Eraser, which I've been ignoring. But I'll give that a workout tomorrow.
Also not at the local CVS or Rite Aid. I guess I'll try Home Depot/Lowes. Better hurry before the mood passes . |

| Spot Shot is made by the makers of my husband's favorite stuff - WD40. According to their website: "Spot Shot is a water-based cleaner and one of its main ingredients is 2-Butoxyethanol, which is a superior chemical for removing difficult oil-based stains. The rest of the formula is a trade secret that we would like to keep to ourselves. However, we can assure you that Spot Shot contains no ingredients that might be detrimental to user or the environment." All chemical manufacturers are required by law to provide Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for their products where to the best of their knowledge they have to disclose the potential hazards associated with the chemicals in the product and ways to handle spills, accidents, etc. WD40 makes their MSDSs readily available to the public - bravo! MSDS of Spot Shot can be found here: Spot Shot - Tackles Carpet Stain Removal & Eliminates Pet Urine Odors (click on the tab in the right upper corner). Besides 2-butoxyethanol, this product contains hydrocarbons as propellants, and nothing else is listed in the MSDS. If it had anything else that could have been considered dangerous, by law the manufacturer would have had to disclose those ingredients. If you look at MSDSs of alcohol or acetic acid (concentrated vinegar), you might find these so dangerous that you'd stop using them
I absolutely do not recommend inhaling the vapors, but with common sense use this cleaner is tops for pet stains.
If "Liquefied Petroleum Gas" sounds too dangerous, there is a newer trigger-bottle version of Spot Shot: Spot Shot - Carpet Stain Removal with 4-D Carpet Clean Power!
But as thisoldman stated, nothing beats Corgis when it comes to clean up of cat accidents! |

| Wow, just found this thread.
Love the Mr Clean Magic Eraser!!! Gets stains off my countertops like magic.
Quick tip: Someone also tool me to use this on the coping and steps of my inground pool to get that gray grunge off of them and keep them white. Works like a charm and no more scrubbing with a stiff brush. Also, I clean my leather furniture with this, it is amazing on the furniture.
Also, the baking soda and vinegar mix is awesome!!! Cleaned my self cleaning oven the way it should be cleaned and my stainless steel sink never shown so brightly. Also deodorizes my garbage disposal.
Does anyone have any pool cleaning tips or products to share that really work? A dirty pool is my worst pet peeve. |

| Krud Kutter is available in most paint stores catering to the trades. Another similar product, also as effective is Spray Nine (or 9; unsure about actual labeling.) Krud Kutter also produces a line of speciality products to eliminate rust stains, calcium and mineral deposits. There's a store locator here Original Krud Kutter, Stain Removal, Carpet Cleaning, Cleaning Products, Industrial Cleaning Products, Wipes, Spray, Cleaning And Pressure Washing Products, Janitorial Supplies, Carpet Stain Removal - <script language="JavaScript" src="file:///C|/wor
I've found that the Magic Eraser is more effective if moistened slightly (not dripping wet). |

| MomOf3Stars - I'm a huge fan of iRobot's Roomba, so maybe their pool cleaners are also good? I don't have a pool, so I wouldn't know. Shop for iRobot® Verro™ Pool Cleaning Robots |
