| Northeastern vs William & Mary, my $0.02:
Boston is a great city for college students. Yes, Northeastern is urban, but we are not talking concrete canyons. Northeastern has its co-op program, which is great *if* your kid wants to study something where that fits well.
William & Mary is very pretty, the environment is probably more sheltered. I may be wrong, but I think it has more of a reputation across a wider geographical area, and may be perceived as stronger in traditional academic areas. Having some family in the area when you are living abroad would be very useful.

| expat, I would lean towards the school with relatives nearby if I lived out of the country....but then I am a Mom who's first child is about to go off to college next year and I am feeling a little nervous/hopeful about it all. When she was 3 and entered nursery school, she took her transitional object with her. I think I was as comforted by her having it as she was! |

| Our daughter received another fat envelope yesterday! She now has three good choices. I know she will have a tough time deciding, but I am betting I can guess which one she will choose! |

| Congratulations, everyone! I am so happy that I am maxed out at work with a new project - I don't have enough time to think (more like go out of my mind) about college decisions. And then I break for lunch...
We're gone this weekend so we do have some sort of a reprieve from the mailbox.
Hang in there everyone. At least this time around, I am no longer grinding my teeth as I did in the early decision round. |

Tea and coffee are available now; the bar will open at 4. Good luck to all! |

| Not to throw a wrench into the decision process, but when I was in college, our athletic uniforms changed in design nearly every year. |

The mailman has come and gone.... no news...
Is it 4 o'clock somewhere?
A wise, experienced (but pessimistic nonetheless) person reminded me today that unfortunately all the denials come at once at the end. Hope for the best, prepare for the worst, remember to celebrate even when the last news is not the best. |

| #2 son is home - but when I asked if he got the mail - he was clearly totally annoyed with me (LITTLE UNGRATEFUL TURD!). "I HAVE WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY TOO MUCH STUDYING TO DO, MOM!" So I guess that means he won't be scuttling out to the mailbox for me.
I will say - #1 son got shot down by Harvard and Stanford in mid march and within a day of each other - both were total long shots for him.
Oh and uniforms? HA I laugh at your uniforms! There isn't a whole lot that the swim guys can do with little tiny scraps of lycra! |

| I just called #2 again - asked if he was going to do the Duke online thing - he says "SERIOUSLY? this is SERIOUSLY why you called?" Um yeah! I asked about the mail too. He said - and I quote - "NADA!"
So I am going to work until 6 and then go to knitting thing then go watch him play IM soccer then I will check the Duke thing! |

| Results for S's no 1 choice will not be out till Friday night or Sat and even on Monday. One result is supposed to be released tommorrow or Thurs and the last one on Monday at 5PM. I still can't stop logging into CC. I have many hobbies and work which I cannot concentrate on at all. Help! I think its because, I have anticipated this moment for so long since my s was in middle school maybe even longer. The process as a whole was so frustrating and slow. In the fall, my h and I had a daily conference with S, who was not only argumentative but a procrastinator. I can't wait thill this is over! |
