auto transport company recs?

I haven't been on CC for awhile but I know where to come for advice when I need it!.....so I am back. D, just finishing up her Sophomore year at Tufts, will be home (Southern Cal) from Boston in a few weeks. She plans to stay long enough to pack up her car and drive back to Boston for the summer. She has a good full time job and an internship is pending nearby. By time she pays for gas, food and lodging along the way I was thinking it might cost about the same to use an auto transport service. Plus, it would save wear and tear on her '94 Camry. I have heard some horror stories, so I am looking for those of you who can rec'd a company. When I googled auto transport service, I was directed to a page from which I have rec'd 20+ quotes. I can't tell the good from the bad. I did find a Berkeley parent site that rec'd DAS. What should we be looking for when we evaluate the quotes we are getting? Thanks for any advice and rec'ds.

Hi blucroo - welcome back.

There was another fairly recent thread on this topic so you might want to search around on the Parents Cafe (or Parents Forum - can't remember) for it.
